Dude my throat hates me.

Last night I was taken to a rally for NO on Prop 8- its a Prop in California that wants to take the rights of marriage from gays, lesbians etc. And for being in the heart of republican land (aka Orange County), it actually wasn't that bad. We missed some of the stuff- the leader of the rally had a Separate Church + State sign and ohhhh boy, apparently people actually tried getting out of their cars to get at him. Or they took the easy route and try to throw food. We had a few people flip us off or say they were Yes on 8, but overall they weren't in our faces about it.

What was interesting about it was that before we even got there, our organizer (who I can't even remember his name D: he was so adorable), had went out and bought 150 signs and someone broke into his car and stole them. So. We went artistic with it, he went out to all the art stores and bought as many poster boards, paint and markers as he could and we made our own signs! At most we had about thirty of us, at the end of it there was at least 15 of us and we kept getting people to honk and we informed a few people about the prop which was nice.

Around 9pm a bunch of us were going to leave, since the traffic was mostly dying now and we all had school in the morning or work. We turned around and on the opposite corner (at times we took up three corners of the intersection), a bunch of guys we had seen earlier screaming at us and flipping us off were back and had made hastily made 'YES ON 8' signs. That killed the incentive to leave and we stayed another two hours and we garnered more honks then them? What was really interesting was how one of them wanted to instigate a fight with us. We'd chant that '8 = Hate' and 'Stop Discrimination' etc and all the guy would do was scream that 'faggots should burn in hell' or that 'god doesn't love us'.

What was really interesting that later on, when a few of us went onto their side to hold signs, my friend Scott actually showed our point of view to one of the guys which I think might have swinged his vote a little bit. He thought we were crazy, going-to-kill-you people and he told us that we were cool and that he had nothing wrong with us. ♥



Uh so yea. Totally can't wait for this to end.

I have a school project tomorrow and my group hasn't even started it. Fuck. I have no idea what's going on on that front. But I got my midterm back! I got a C+/B- on it which is interesting? I didn't complete all the questions but he liked what I had so far but it was too general to his liking. I have to learn how to be more specific and detailed and just write faster.
